Good news for all you spidey fans; The Amazing Siderman sequel is now officially a goer with both Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) and Marc Webb (director) confirmed to be attached. All we need now is confirmation on Emma Stone who we’re hoping will reprise her role as Gwen Stacy however the actress is said to be still ‘in talks’ on this. But we reckon you’re safe enough to count your chickens on this one; movie distributors have a habit of dribbling out this kind of information to keep suckers like myself in the habit of talking about it. As per ComingSoon.net, the production on the second installment of Webb’s Marvel comic reboot will kick off early next year. Scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are hard at work right now with Jeff Pinkman on finishing up a script that was originally penned by James Vanderbilt.

Commenting on the forthcoming movie, president at Columbia Pictures, Doug Belgrad said: “We could not be more confident in the direction we are taking this new Spider-Man storyline… We are tremendously excited to be ramping up production again with Marc at the helm and Andrew continuing on as Peter Parker. We can’t wait to share what we have in store for Peter and Spider-Man with audiences worldwide.”

Exciting indeed. Details on what exactly is in store for Peter and his alterego, Spiderman, will remain under wraps but what Total Film can confirm, is that the movie will hit cinemas on the 18th of April 2014. Keep it free.

Andrew Garfield thinks it’s only possible to please everyone in your “fantasies”.

The British actor portrayed Spider-Man in this year’s hit movie, but realised that not everyone would value what he brought to the role. He only worries about pleasing himself and doesn’t listen to negativity.

“Now that I so famous I try to do my best, but I know that I can’t be appreciated by everyone. It is only possible to please everyone in your fantasies, not in reality. You have to remind yourself that you’re not the centre of the world, even if you have fame,” he told website leiweb.it.

There are certain people that Andrew has always looked up to during his life. He would love to emulate the careers of his favourite Hollywood stars, but his greatest inspiration is closer to home.

“My mother is one of the heroes of my life. She’s fantastic,” he said. “When it comes to film stars I really value Robert Redford and Mike Nichols: I usually admire the people who believe in the strength of their art.”

Andrew Garfield thinks women should rule the world.

The British actor prides himself on his ability to bond with the opposite sex. He has many solid friendships with females and thinks the planet would be a much nicer place if ladies had more control.

“I think that the way woman and men relate to each other is changing and I like it,” he told website leiweb.it. “Also, I think that women should lead the world. Men are idiots, including me.”

Andrew enjoys sharing his problems with his female pals as they always listen to him. They also give him honest advice which is easy to follow, while he is never sure if he can be completely himself around men.

“Women can understand what’s going on better and that’s why they are more sensitive than men,” he explained. “At least in my personal experience. Men are always focused on the competition, as an obsession. But I think that we could learn a lot from women [especially if we] managed problems from a feminine point of view.”
