‘Les Miserables’ actor Eddie Redmayne is after a supero role like fellow Brit actor Andrew Garfield, possibly in new movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ which gets its release in August 2014.
The star told told MTV: ”I love those films when they’re done well. I loved watching Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone] in ‘Spider-Man.’ I loved watching ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. There seems to be an audience now needing satisfaction beyond spectacle.
”From an actor’s point of view, that makes it intriguing. I love going to see those films. I also like to shake it up – I just did a musical. I don’t like sitting in a box.”
The versatile actor has been rumored as having a role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as Star-Lord in the adaptation of James Gunn’s comic-books, which feature a futuristic team of world-defenders.
The film is in development with ‘The Avengers’ studio Marvel, but Eddie wasn’t giving anything away, saying he just feels glad to be given roles.
The ‘My Week With Marilyn’ star said: ”As an actor, you never believe you’re going to get a job when you start out. You’re lucky to get any form of employment. There’s noise with the internet of things that are true and not true. If I listen to all of it, I’d go slightly insane.”
Well we hope that studio bosses do listen to the buzz, and grant Eddie his super-powered wish!
